This St Maarten resort offers 65 guestrooms in 18 one-story, pastel-colored villas with light-green, corrugated-steel roofs arrayed on a low, gentle slope. Each villa at Esmeralda Resort contains three to five rooms and has its own swimming pool measuring approximately 10.75 by 4.5 meters (35 by 15 ft) with jetted section. The pools are surrounded by garden-shielded sundecks furnished with lounge chairs and umbrellas. Guests walk from their rooms' furnished patios to the pools.
Rooms include kitchenettes with two-burner rangetops, compact refrigerators, and toaster ovens. Ceiling fans under peaked wood ceilings supplement air conditioning. White walls and ceilings, terra-cotta-tile floors, and bright fabrics create a tropically informal ambience. Televisions offer U.S./international cable channels. VCRs can be rented.
